Brainwaves – Sept. 20, 2016 – Peter Buck, girlfriends and gypsies

Brainwaves iconR.E.M. may have broken up in 2011, but guitarist Peter Buck has put out a couple of albums since then. Unfortunately, they’re not very good. But Brainwaves has done the heavy lifting for you and picked out the cream so you don’t have to. And it wouldn’t be an episode of Brainwaves without some real R.E.M. Plus wild gypsy punk from Israel’s Sum Sum, a set of “girlfriend” music with The Three O’Clock, The Smiths, Matthew Sweet and Shy Nobleman. Plus music from Andrew Belle, Gomez, Snow Patrol, Passenger, Said the Whale, and Rani & Eiland.
