The Power Pop Show

If it rocks AND your mom likes it, it’s probably power pop! Power pop [ˈpau̇(-ə)r ˈpäp]  is a popular musical genre that draws its inspiration from 1960s British and American pop and rock music. It typically incorporates a combination of musical devices such as strong melodies, clear vocals and crisp vocal harmonies, economical arrangements and prominent guitar riffs. The credo of the Power Pop Show is simple: bring quality, modern & classic melodically-driven rock to people who enjoy music. Your host Jeff Shelton meets in the middle, where melody and rock peacefully co-exist. For showtimes check out our live programme schedule! More...

Under The Radar

New Music, Old Favorites, Buried Treasures, Imports and Indies. Indie rock [ˈin-dē ˈräk] comes from “independent,” describes the small and relatively low-budget labels on which it is released and the do-it-yourself attitude of the bands and artists involved. Although distribution deals are often struck with major corporate companies, these labels and the bands they host have attempted to retain their autonomy, leaving them free to explore sounds, emotions and subjects of limited appeal to large, mainstream audiences.  Your host Mark Copeland presents music that’s made for the radio, that corporate & commercial radio tends to ignore, direct from the Motor City, Detroit MI! Fact is musicians make the best D.J.’s! Please look at the JAMS interview page to see all the artists that have appeared on the show! Hour 2: All New Melodic Rock and Roll ala Dennis The Menace. From Brit Pop, to American Power Pop, singer/songwriters to bands and “collectives”, major label to indie, if DTM thinks it’s great songwriting, and melody, adding up to the kind of music that makes him say “Omigod!”, he plays it – usually days after he gets it!
