Hour 1: Interviews and "Musical Sandwich" Sets with Rock and Roll Artists Of Note. These ARE NOT to be the classic 10 minute hype the latest music interviews. Dennis the Menace will be talking to these artists in the casual, conversational style he has become well-known in his over 30 years as an air personality. The interview is followed by the now famous "Musical Sandwich": Two of the artists songs as the bread and anything they want to play by other artists as the "fillings" in-between. Fact is musicians make the best D.J.'s! Please look at the JAMS interview page to see all the artists that have appeared on the show! Hour 2: All New Melodic Rock and Roll ala Dennis The Menace. From Brit Pop, to American Power Pop, singer/songwriters to bands and "collectives", major label to indie, if DTM thinks it's great songwriting, and melody, adding up to the kind of music that makes him say "Omigod!", he plays it – usually days after he gets it! Which means that the audience tends to hear a lot of "firsts" and they like it that way!

Indie rock [ˈin-dē ˈräk] comes from "independent," describes the small and relatively low-budget labels on which it is released and the do-it-yourself attitude of the bands and artists involved. Although distribution deals are often struck with major corporate companies, these labels and the bands they host have attempted to retain their autonomy, leaving them free to explore sounds, emotions and subjects of limited appeal to large, mainstream audiences. Your host Mark Copeland presents music that's made for the radio, that corporate & commercial radio tends to ignore, direct from the Motor City, Detroit MI!

Underground music [ˌən-dər-ˈgrau̇nd ˈmyü-zik] comprises musical genres beyond mainstream culture. Any song that is not being legally commercialized is considered underground. Such music may tend to express common ideals, such as high regard for sincerity and intimacy, freedom of creative expression as opposed to the highly formulaic composition of commercial music, and appreciation of artistic individuality as opposed to conformity to current mainstream trends. Your host Jeff Shelton devotes a concentrated two hours each week to bring you the best in completely Underground 80’s rock.

...to create sets of rock and roll music you've never heard together before and probably never will again. The songs are put together by a “loose theme” and might share some intricate musical heritage, make for the ultimate segue, or just sound good together. Six decades are in the mix from doo-wop to British Invasion hits and rarities to punk to 80’s New Wave all topped with the best melodic rock of today. Every 7th Show is the 7" Edition where all music is played off 45 rpm records with lots of flip sides and imports in the mix. Throughout the show Dennis offers one-of-a-kind factoids about the artists and the music, gives away concert and movie tickets, and talks about his daughter Kate a lot!

At the end of the Second World War, economics forced the big bands to trim their once great size and thus, the Jump Blues combo was born. Between 1946-1954, rhythm and blues laid the tracks for what was to become Rock n’ Roll. So how come, nearly 70 years later, this vibrant and influential music is still so unknown to so many? Matt The Cat is going to change that with the radio program, “Juke in The Back.” These were the records that you couldn't hear on the jukebox in the front of the establishment. To hear all this great '40s & '50s rhythm & blues, you had to go to the “Juke in The Back.”

What songs would you want if you could only download one track per album? Deep Threes is the weekly radio show for the 21st Century digital music collector. “Deep” is a nod to the deep tracks of the past. “Threes” refers to the MP3s that fill up our hard drives. New releases from indie artists. Underground music from the copyleft. Rediscovered gems from the past. Music with bite, passion and depth. Themes are not chosen – they emerge. They could be a small arc between two songs as the set moves along. Or the set can unravel into a short story told through the mood and lyrics of each song. A Deep Threes mix can float over the clouds in the night sky, or gradually take you across terrain that is radically different than the starting point. Layers of found sounds, spoken words and subtle remixes are there to mark the way points in each excursion. Your destination: an oasis of deep listening and discovery. At the heart of this process is the music. The synergy of math and physics, mechanics and electronics, infused with the human spirit, rising up in a river of feelings alongside all the glistening gems we found along the way. The Deep Threes.
