IT’S MOVING DAY!

We are (still) relocating the studios to the Mangaroa Valley! We will be off the air for a few days whilst we move our studios and gear from Papakowhai to Mangaroa.  Please accept our apologies for the silence, but we will be returning again soon to bring you the best in world-class indie rock, just as we have been for almost 20 years!  Beginning 22nd June.  Thank you for your patience.  The studio is operational but the FM & Internet broadcasts are still down. **UPDATE** 12/07/18 –  We are currently still working to get back on the air.   There have been a few roadblocks to provisioning services to the new studios, in spite of our booking the move months in advance, thanks Spark NZ and others! 🙁  Then if that wasn’t enough drama, limbs have fallen and taken out the telecom lines to the studio.  That requires another level of cat herding to get all of the moving parts working together. Good news!  The cats have been herded and it looks like we have a target date to be back on the air.  Tentatively we are scheduled to have all of the work completed by Wednesday 18/07/18 and we look to be back up and jamming the free world, one person at a time soon afterwards.  *fingers crossed*  **UPDATE** 23/07/2018 – We are back on the air!  Finally.  🙂 Please accept our humblest apologies and rest assured we WILL be back...

The 80s Underground

Truly a lost genre of radio programming until now… Underground music [ˌən-dər-ˈgrau̇nd ˈmyü-zik] comprises musical genres beyond mainstream culture. Any song that is not being legally commercialized is considered underground. Such music may tend to express common ideals, such as high regard for sincerity and intimacy, freedom of creative expression as opposed to the highly formulaic composition of commercial music, and appreciation of artistic individuality as opposed to conformity to current mainstream trends. The 80s Underground resurrects the best in 80’s Indie, College, Punk, Post-punk, New wave, and Modern rock. Your host Jeff Shelton devotes a concentrated two hours each week to bring you the best in completely Underground 80’s rock. For showtimes check out our live programme...

The Waiting Room

Expect music, blather, chaos & cheek. Cheeky [ˈtʃiːki] – impudent or irreverent, typically in an amusing way. The Waiting Room, hosted by verbal miscreants & professional amateurs Drunk Country (DC) & “The Woman of The House” (aka TWoTH), is a new music/non-sequitur radio show based out of Cardiff, Wales. Discovering 2hrs of new music on your behalf every week since 2006, TWR delivers bands, live sessions, interviews, & nonsensical jibber-jabber at an alarming rate.  Formerly of WOXY.com. Juke In The Back

The records that you couldn’t hear on the jukebox in the front of the establishment… At the end of the Second World War, economics forced the big bands to trim their once great size and thus, the Jump Blues combo was born. Between 1946-1954, rhythm and blues laid the tracks for what was to become Rock n’ Roll. So how come, nearly 70 years later, this vibrant and influential music is still so unknown to so many? Matt The Cat is going to change that with the radio program, “Juke In The Back.” These were the records that you couldn’t hear on the jukebox in the front of the establishment. To hear all this great ’40s & ’50s rhythm & blues, you had to go to the “Juke In The Back.” For showtimes check out our live programme...
